Have you ever thought about the impact that your family of origin has had on you? There are so many patterns that have been established in your life just by existing within the sphere you were raised. So many times, we may think we are over something from our past, only to have it resurrect itself again in our lives.
I’d like to bring some clarity to those of you who may feel that your life is set to repeat itself again. In fact, in Exodus 34:7 we are taught that God loves us, but the iniquity will continue until third and fourth generations. What is that about?
“Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” Exodus 34:7
Let’s break that chain!
God isn’t saying here that He is going to cause the third and fourth generation to sin, what He is saying is that patterns have a way of repeating themselves!
God has told us that we shall know the truth and the truth will set us free! John 8:32
Jesus brought truth to the fact that when He opens your eyes to understanding, you will know how to break free from any chain from your past!
“As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.” John 9:1-3
God will not judge you based on your parental influence! No, what He desires for you is to heal any wounds that have come upon you! Any influence that was not of Him, shake it, get it off of you! You will do so with His power and permission!
God will be glorified through you because He will heal your eyes! You will see more clearly.
You will understand your buttons, your triggers, the things that scare you, the things that cause anxiety, the things that bind you from being successful and you will reprogram your mind in Christ so that you can receive the blessed and abundant life that He has for you! The life filled with passion, purpose, and goodness!
